Интервью Джо Местаса Russia Today о докладе Комиссии ЕС
Интервью Джо Местаса Russia Today о докладе независимой комиссии ЕС, расследовавшей причины войны в Южной Осетии
Now that it’s clear, from the EU Commission's Report that Saakashvili, President of the Republic of Georgia started war against South Ossetia, August 2008, Joe Mestas, a US citizen living in Tskhinval, wonders when the international community will start sending Humanitarian and Financial aid to the region. When the war broke out, the international community was quick to blame Russia for starting the war. Right away humanitarian and financial aid was sent to Georgia, nothing was sent to South Ossetia. Seems that Saakashvili was rewarded for his crimes, while the victims of the war in South Ossetia were ignored by all. The EU admonished Russia for going beyond the conflict area, saying that their retaliation was excessive. I disagree, The military positions, targeted by Russia in Georgia proper were used to fuel the war. Gori, about 30 minutes from Tskhinval was the home base of a Spetznatz unit, which was recently constructed, the port in Poti was used to bring weapons into Georgia. Do you remember the 1999 NATO attack on Yugoslavia? What about Bush's Shock n Awe on Iraq? Saakashvili's forces were using illegal GRAD Rockets targeting and killing the civilian population, their homes, schools and hospital, that is "WAR CRIMES". I urge the people of Georgia to send Saakashvili to international court to be tried for his crimes. I urge everyone who reads this, to send it to their friends ad to contact your representatives and demand that South Ossetia be recognized. Russia's recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia was the first true realistic step in achieving peace in the Caucuses.
